Nevada is a state located in the Western region of the United States. It is the 32nd most populous state in the United States. Nevada is the 7th largest state among 50 states of the United States. Nevada attained its statehood on 31st October 1864 and has become the 36th state to join the union. 

The bordering states of Nevada are Idaho to the northeast, Oregon to the northwest, California to the west, Utah to the west, and Arizona to the southeast. Nevada has 16 counties.
