Virginia is a state in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions of the United States which is located in between the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic Coast. Virginia is the 12th populous state in the United States. And it is the 35th largest of the 50 states in the United States. 

Virginia attained its statehood on 25th July 1788 and has become the 10th state to join the union. The bordering states of Virginia are Maryland, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Virginia has 95 counties. And its capital is Richmond. It was one of the 13 colonies in the American Revolution. The most famous national park in Virginia is Shenandoah National Park.
